|the day begins with 9AM Easter service, after which I hastily apply the orange cream cheese icing and candied citrus peel to my carrot cake to bring along to Carmen & Monica’s Easter dinner
|but before we go we must stop by our God-daughter’s house in Ambler to deliver her Easter basket (this one holds a purple hyacinth potted in milk glass, pink tights, a glass egg filled with Jelly Belly jelly beans, a vintage ‘chocolate’ rabbit candle, a milk chocolate bunny, bubbles and book)

|Rosella & Laura are happy to see us and we play together in their back yard for an hour
|Laura is two and a half and bursting with energy!
|off to Monica & Carmen’s house where Monica tries (and fails) to give a toast without crying
|(mom and dad)
|dinner is served / baked ham, roasted asparagus, baked ziti, Rupert’s jerk chicken and salad with roasted butternut squash, blue cheese & candied walnuts / YUM!
|dessert – always the highlight of my day / here the carrot cake shares the table with Katherine’s homemade strawberry shortcake and mom’s light-as-air ricotta cheese cake
|together, John and I fight post dinner food-coma / all in all, a very happy Easter 🙂
