Penn Oaks Wedding / Meghan & Christopher

‘Classic, joyful and relaxed’ were the words Meghan used to describe her intended vibe for her mid-summer wedding at Penn Oaks Gold Club in West Chester PA.  I’m not sure a bride could be more laid-back than Meghan.  ‘Whatever happens, I just want it to be fun’ she said.  And it truly was.

Our coverage started at St Joe’s in Downingtown, as guests arrived and the excitement built.  The ceremony was lovely, with Father Tom setting a joyful, relaxed tone with his warm smile and jovial yet meaningful homily.  I could tell Meghan and Chris were a little nervous during the first part of the ceremony, as neither of them are ‘spotlight people’.  But then I could see they became nice and relaxed and really started to enjoy and take everything in.

Meghan even planned an actual power nap into her day, knowing that by the cocktail hour, she’d need a break from the action.  And good thing she did, because the zipper on her dress got stuck -very stuck- and the girls had to do some swift MacGyver action to rectify the situation.

Party highlights, for me, were the super fun and fantastic father/daughter dance that had everyone smiling, plus a BANGIN homemade cookie bar in the corner with everything from pizzelles to snowballs to beautifully decorated anisette cookies.  I’m not going to lie and say I didn’t try them.  They were amazing.
