Photographing people has been my lifelong passion for nearly seventeen years. My professional career began at sixteen, fulfilling internships for several established photographers in the Lancaster County area. It was in these early years that I learned the ropes of various photographic sub-fields, mastering the technical aspects of film, equipment and lighting. I found myself continually drawn to the more artistic aspects of photography – composition, feeling and mood – during work-time as photographic assistant for a distinguished wedding photographer in 1997.
The following autumn, I shot my first wedding as lead photographer and, having happily discovered my avenue, Annie Hosfeld Photography was born.
In 2008, after a decade of photographing blissful brides, I finally ‘took the plunge’, becoming a bride myself. Experiencing a wedding from the other end of the lens offered me new insight into the joys & stresses of planning a wedding, and of the important relationship between a bride and her photographer. I was amazed at how quickly the memories of that incredible day began to fade! Thankfully, we had a wonderful photographer who graced us with many beautiful images, many of which we lovingly display throughout our home.
I live in Blue Bell with my husband John and blue-eyed cat Luey. I love: planning parties, cooking for friends, all things 50’s, driving the back roads of Lancaster County, cocktail hour, writing letters, picnics, Polaroids, Mad Men, playing the piano and being with family.
